The traffic aftermath of IKE is horrible. We tried to wait out the traffic by making the best of it. Happy hour at AKA Sushi Restaurant for the first time. The decor and ambience was chilled. Food was average, could have tasted better or more fresh. Went shopping at Crate and Barrel and West Elm to waste more time. We didn't make it home until 8:30 p.m. to pick up Meagan from grandma's house. I was traumatized by the 3.5 hour process to get home! Time spent with Meagan was too short. After her bubble bath it was already bedtime.

Meagan's daycare is still without power this morning. They set up the daycare at a banquet hall near by. As we drove up I could see kids lounging on restaurant chairs and place mats on the ground. My heart sanked, I was not happy. When I got inside I noticed the teachers huddled together around the children. Face expressions were of exhaustion and fatigue. The room was hot and had a slight odor. The children looked like they were in a refugee camp. We immediately called grandma and asked if she could watch Meagan. If not, I would have stayed home with her. There was no way I could leave Meagan there.

After we dropped off Meagan at grandma's house, we head off to work. It took us 1 hour to travel 5 miles. We knew it would take all morning, so we just turned back. We are both working from home today. This is much better than sitting in traffic for 2-3 hours.
