a day get away

A day get away to enjoy selfish time to ourselves. Eight hours of  "us" time to enjoy brunch & coffee, vintage shopping, lunch at the Greek Festival, and random outings. The weather was absolutely perfect for our special day out. Funny how these little moments were taken for granted before parenthood. Important to invest quality time to our marriage. Hoping to build a solid foundation for our little family.

little time

There seems to be so much to do with very little time. Wondering if the ideas in my head will one day materialize into something. Capable of doing many things, master of none. Love watching the little ones have all the time in the world to enjoy life. A nice reminder to do the same.

Homemade mini cupcakes from the lovely sis-in-law and niece. Meagan enjoyed decorating the cupcakes with pretty sprinkles. Absolutely love the buttery smell of cupcakes baking in the oven.

The first week back to work was oddly pleasant. Enjoy getting ready in the morning and riding in with the hubby. “Us” time is a luxury nowadays, so we make the most of our commute to and from work and lunch breaks. Marriage and time for self surely does take a backseat when parenthood demands much energy and time. Yet, there is no better place we rather be.

This is as simple as it gets. Figures with zig zags represent the girls of the family. The straight lined figure is daddy. We live in an ordinary square looking house. Favorite thing to do is play with daddy. An unconditional kind of love.

stay-at-home mom

Last week of maternity leave. A bittersweet moment. Enjoyed the great pleasures of a stay-at-home mom:  daily cat naps with piglet, sharing sweet hugs and kisses, lots of cooing and gurgling throughout the day, waking up late, lounging around the house on rainy days, frequent blog updates, watching soap network...Yet, at the same time ready to return to the corporate world to help provide for the family. The recent company lay offs hit close to home. Upon returning to work next week, there will be may empty cubicles and offices. The mood will be different. Job roles and responsibilities uncertain at the moment. Just grateful to have a job nowadays....
